Rosslyn Chapel
We went to Rosslyn Chapel this afternoon. I'd never been before and was really stunned by the amazing stonework. A bit difficult to get a blip since unfortunately no photos are allowed inside the chapel and a large part of the outside has scaffolding around it.
Part of the Eastern wall wasn't covered in scaffolding and you can still see some of the detailed stonework, though it's nothing compared to the inside of the chapel. I love the colour of the stone - it's such a shame that the inside was coated in a sort of cement-type layer in the 1950s in an attempt to preserve the stonework (I forget what the layer actually is, but the point is that it's all grey and covers up the original colour of the stone - such a shame!!).
