Dinner for Six
I opened my last chunk of suet, and switched it from a tree/shrub..to a sheperds hook. The chickadees and the sparrows went nuts. Just a flurry of activity.
I snuck up to the nursery, pulled up both blinds, and cracked open the window. I was in there with my grandson, and my daughters big dog. We are babysitting both. My wife suggested I change the babys diaper. Baby or Blip? That was the question. It was a doozy. Not the picture..the diaper. "What did you have to eat for a snack last night?" My guess would be cabbage, but I know that's probably not possible.
After my chore, I snapped and snapped, trying to get some wing movement. It was half-working. I went back outside..putting out a few peanuts for the blue-jays. I grabbed a towel from the kitchen, and draped it over my arm. I stood near the feeder. "Excuse me, Mr. Sparrow..can I help you?"
"A spot on the suet for one..please."
"There's 5 on there already. Can you hang upside down?"
"I sure can, and I can give you a little underwing shot.. if you like."
"I like."
I ran upstairs..I jumped the baby gate..I jumped the dog..and swerved around the baby. A quick grab of the camera..SNAP,SNAP, SNAP..and there's the picture. Thanks to all involved.
