Between fen and mountains

Chains

I often find beauty in the natural word but too often overlook it because I am 'too much in my own head' thinking, planning, projecting. The photos and the blog force me to reflect on an exterior world and take pleasure in the here and now. That has to a better path to serenity surely. Today I can find beauty in the built world and human endeavour. This simple chain outside the village church goes unnoticed but how much design, effort and labour went into its creation? I never cease to be amazed at the miracles of construction that testify to the skill, ingenuity and imagination of humankind. In three weeks, I will pass over the Millau viaduct. That is one such. 'Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise'
