Wat in heaven's name

This toppled wall is at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the huge ancient complex of temples that used to have influence over great swathes of Indochina.

As it's my birthday I have been a bit crazy and done a last-ditch jaunt up to Angkor Wat from Phnom Penh, involving a night bus, 2 hours of sleep, fatigued temple viewing and possibly a mood that can't cope so well with the 100th tuk tuk driver to ask whether I want a ride.

It was definitely worth it though. Absolutely the best thing about Angkor Wat is pootling about by bike, finding the more deserted temples and going exploring, peppered with a bit of book reading in the quietest of spots.
