Dolphin watching

On our last day we wanted to go on a dolphin and wale watching trip. Only when we got to the harbour we were told that the boat was taking in for maintenance. We were pretty disappointed as for once there were notes informing customers and second, it was a replica of the original boat that Christopher Columbus used when he discovered America.

Luckily though there was another boat leaving from the same harbour.

When we went out we didn't really expect to see anything. So we were rather surprised to spot about 5 dolphins! Pretty nice to see them in their natural environment. I must also say that I was positively impressed by how keen the guides were to keep a safe distance to the dolphins and kept an eye on rubbish not being thrown into the water. This is something that I've rarely seen when it comes to such countries whose primary income is tourism.
