Skyline
I'm not sure if yesterday's outpouring was such a good idea, but I'm leaving it, it's how I felt.
I slept fairly well, despite the continued banging from the fireworks. I love fireworks. Normally I would have tried to catch sight of them but times are not normal.
I woke before 9 and decided not to go to church but stuck in the ear plugs and put on the blindfold and had another 3 hours 'sleep'. This turned out to be just as well. Had I gone I would have stayed for the monthly lunch. Then I would have missed E's call and the invite to R's 21st birthday lunch. She thought the invite had been issued, but it hadn't.
It was a perfect day - blue, blue skies and sun. Had I not been going to the Braid Hills I would have gone to the garden and might even have had a walk along the Canal.
After lunch and then champagne and birthday cake back in Juniper Green I repaired to bed. It's warm, it's soft and it's safe.
Turns out there was a lie (or a 'half truth' yesterday). I'd known though, I'd known at the time. When did we start playing these stupid games?
And continuing family frustration - #1 son needs his medals by Sunday. The medals are here, they need to get mounted in London and he is in KL. How will this be? Supermum to the rescue I guess! Wonder if he'd pay for me to courier them out? I also have to work out how to get a wedding cake for 300+ to KL, but not by Sunday luckily. I spent frustrating hours trying to get in touch with him. Why is his phone never on?
So for the blip more Marchmont roofs, highlighted against the bright blue sky. You can just make out the builders initials, M for Mackintosh. This part of the street was completed in 1883. To think that for the next 20 years or so those living there looked out over the fields of cattle on the south side of the road.
