Six weeks later.
Well.
Thar she blows!
In all her glory.
Albeit from a, slightly, different angle, but six weeks ago the area looked like this.
The paved hole appeared about halfway through that time.
I expressed surprise that it was hidden from view in such short order, but one of the blokes informed me that they wouldn't want anybody wasting there time with archeology as there was a time penalty in force which would set them back by several thousand quid per day late.
One day in the near future I'll take a decko from the top deck, just to see what the view's like.
The Gospel, according to ''The Cumberland & Westmorland Herald''
''The new Penrith Sainsbury's store will open to the public next week
Some 15 years after the prospect of creating a supermarket at Southend road was first mooted by Eden District Council.''
Though it's fair to say that they didn't ''Break sod'' 15yrs ago ... It only feels like it.
Was it worth the ''moot''?
We'll just have to wait and see.
Score to date.
Co-ops 2 Both now dead.
Morrison's 1
Booths pending
Sainsbury's imminent
Aldi 1
Spar 1
Small garage mini market 1
Other garages with food outlets, over and above Mars© bars and bickies, at least another two.
