Aboyne,The Boat Inn

The day has been cold but very clear and sunny. A trip into the country seemed to be called for. This included a trip to Aboyne for morning coffee. Aboyne is not far from Balmoral, and I believe some of the younger members of the Royal family may be up here at the moment.

A leisurely coffee was followed by a leisurely stroll through the village. We saw the preparations for the firework display this evening, and further along came to The Boat Inn which overlooks the River Dee.

The pub seems to be very popular, at least it was on one occasion when I attempted to go there for lunch but found it full. On this occasion as I had the car, whether the pub was full or otherwise, a pub lunch felt like a bit of a waste.

So with regrets I paused only to take this photographic memory of a pint forsaken. Pity that truck was parked in front of the pub!
