My plan to photograph the fireworks display backfired (geddit? - backfired?) when the mist/fog came down so thick that people in the same park as the bonfire couldnt even see it at times - I had little chance across the river from the display.

Given that the fog was present within the city all day, it was a most pleasant surprise to get down to the lakes and find an absolutely glorious sunny clear day. Ideal running conditions (or photographing runners conditions)
