The Finish Line

My youngest son S participated in a school gala today. He swam all the strokes in the U9 age group and came 1st in breaststroke. I am a very proud mom!

The best swimmer of the day award went to one of our learners. M is disabled and has to use a wheelchair, but that did not stop him from getting into the pool today. He was not able to keep up with the other swimmers but he was determined to complete the events. The children from all the schools stood and clapped and cheered him on to the finish line! It was such a special moment and really touched my heart. He was proudly able to compete in the backstroke and freestyle events. Such an inspiration to everybody there today.

Friday has come and gone and the week has ended with lots of jobs completed. My desk is starting to look neater and the piles of paper are getting smaller. Of course that doesn't mean I have nothing to do, it just means I am more prepared to handle what is still ahead.

We had to wait out a big downpour this afternoon before we could drive home. Luckily the gala ended just moments before the rain started. As I write the rain has stopped and the frogs are singing a wonderful chorus outside!
