St Peter's church, Suffolk
Like most churches sadly, this one in the village is usually locked. However, there was a short service Wednesday morning so I was able to go in.
The present building dates from around 1350 and due to changes at the time of the reformation was quite plain inside. In earlier times apparently it was very colourful and lavishly decorated. The money for such things coming from the wealth created by the wool and clothing manufacture. A series of commemorative stained glass windows in the nave were installed in Victorian times.
We were few in number but it was another opportunity to meet neighbours and learn more about the village. Something to regail my friend with over coffee later!
