looking at cameras
The Shy and Flick household was in a bit of confusion this morning with Flick's latest ebay purchases. The problem was the matching of a polaroid back with a cassette of polaroid film. It took most of the morning researching and an extensive sream of communicating with croz to finally realise that flick had bought the wrong film. Thanks so much, croz for your invaluable time given so freely. What a diamond geezer he is.
In the afternoon whilst shopping for a birthday present for a friend, we came across this little beauty in a tearoom of all places. This got our attention turning towards buying a second hand medium format film camera - something I've hankered after since I was a mere boy.
I'm still weighing up the pros and cons of either a Bronica ETRSi system (cheap and and comprehensive 6 x 4.5 format, but basically plastic) or a Mamiya RB67 pro system (a bit more expensive, but built like a brick shithouse, 6 x 7 format and still fully supported by the manufacturer). I feel confident that I'll have one or the other in my grasp within a fortnight, and then spend the next year or so trying to work out why I am doing film.
However, having seen some beautiful large prints from a medium format negative today, I think I will not have any regrets.
