Hearing aid 1930's style

Quirky things around here - Tim just brought up this little plaque he had salvaged from a pew. The company was operating in Wigmore Street in the 1930's and specialised in bone-induction as the way of communicating sounds. And I am sure it was at the top end of innovation and technological marvel! Here is an ad I found. Advert for Acousticon

Yesterday's prosaic candle. It had just had major surgery because it wouldn't burn properly at all. So D (schlimm) operated with a hot knife, cut the whole thing back, dug out the wick and made it all nice and proper, and this was it burning for an hour or so to get it nicely established. It is burning well!
