Power

This is an imposing and impressive 8ft 6ins high bronze statue by sculptor Tom Maley of a miner and accompanying pit wheel on the site of the record breaking colliery known as the Big E whose shaft was sunk of 100 years ago at Ellington Northumberland and pays tribute to those who worked and died in the mines.

No more deep mining and power now being generated by the power of wind, progress ?
