Quiet neighbours?

I spotted this old doorpull when waiting for the bus one day.

I don't suppose the occupant was allowed to carry on his trade within the tenement but you never know.. imagine guisers of yesteryear knocking on the door of the flat and the undertaker in his top hat answering with a coffin standing in the room behind him... exit kids screaming...!
