Tie Tying Lesson

I thought this poem went great with this picture of Gary teaching Liam how to tie his Harry Potter tie tonight. I'm glad I caught this father/son lesson on camera. I pulled out Loren's old Cat in the Hat costume for Landon to wear for Book Character Day at their school tomorrow. This ended up being a larger task than expected because once I fished the costume out of a tote in the garage, I couldn't find the book that Landon had to take with it! After looking for an hour on their bookshelves and elsewhere...I find it in his homework bag. Liam is wearing his Harry costume from last year as well as bringing along the book.

Walk with Me Daddy


Walk alongside me, daddy
and hold my little hand.
I have so many things to learn
that I don't yet understand.

Teach me things to keep me safe
from dangers every day.
Show me how to do my best
at home, at school, at play.

Every child needs a gentle hand
to guide them as they grow.

We have a long way to go.
