Lasagne My Way
With apologies to any veggies for this meat feast but I like to make a rich and meaty lasagne. I don't often get motivated to cook these days but Jayne has been away on a girly weekend I thought I would do a special tea for us. I've never made lasagne twice the same way and today is no exception. I'm cheating with the bechamel sauce but as I know I can make it from scratch who cares? Chorizo and lardons will add a twist too.
Not in shot are the (now open) bottle of rioja, baby Italian plum tomatoes (being tortured in boiling water) and the sheets of Waitrose's finest wobbly/wavey pasta.
The sauce has been simmering for a few hours now and the house smells suitably welcoming. I've fed the fish and cleaned their filtration system and checked all the chemical levels in the water. I do have trouble just chilling. I did feel a bit cheated after earning a proper coffee as, when I walked up Main street. I discovered the coffee shop in the library is no longer open Sundays.
Hay ho.
Here's looking forward to a nice night in.
