October Snow??
It is hard to believe it is still October. I've been enjoying one of my favorite times of year with its bright crisp sky, rich colors of foliage and golden sun over these last couple of weeks.
Today, however, everything changed. The northeast part of the US is being hit with a Nor'easter. A major winter storm is now upon us with the possibility of 6-10 inches for my area and well over a foot in the northwest corner of Connecticut.
This storm will be a record breaker...only the third significant snowfall in over 100 years for our area during October.
Winds are gusting to 60 m.p.h. and will continue to do so all night. Add to that the heavy, wet snow on the leaf covered branches and it is a recipe for downed trees and wires leading to power outages. AGAIN.
I will say, the fresh snow looks pretty today to an extent.
If it were December.
But it's not.
Ugh!
