Rainy Red Leaves

I noticed these leaves driving by this morning, just above the sidewalk on Market Street (around the corner from us).

Only late this afternoon did I manage to return for a blip; it was still raining, by then mixed with sleet (in October!). The moisture and the grayness of the day enhance the brilliance of the foliage. (Try it large, the better to see the drops :)

I posted a rather similar image almost exactly a year ago; amusingly my memory told me that it had been sunny, but in fact it was also cloudy (and I made a similar comment).
