Bullfinch

Snegiri ('Bullfinch'), about to catch the train home after a long weekend at a retreat centre about 25min from a platform on the edge of one of Moscow's metro lines.

There's something romantically boxlike about the front of Russian trains.

I love the livery too, if not the stiff, crowded benches in the carriages, with old ladies hawking handkerchiefs, ice creams and icons up and down the train (while avoiding the half-hearted, and sometimes drunk, ticket inspectors).
