Home to roost

We have plenty of collard doves around but I've never noticed them in this tree before. We were on our way back from a late afternoon walk. I like the fact that the tree is bare and the birds show up almost in silhouette. Typically there are two pairs!
Another fine day although the temperatures are definitely cooling down. My sympathies to those who have suffered from the recent excess of rain and indeed to those who would like some on their land which is excessively dry!
