Mount Grace Priory
We had a hellish journey to North Yorkshire today. Miss E started asking if we were nearly there yet after about 20 minutes, not so great on a 4 hour journey!!
But after the traffic jams, lunch stops, moaning and squabbling we eventually made it, hooray!
We're staying near Yarm and stopped en route at Mount Grace Priory which is a fascinating example of a Carthusian Monastary. Lots of very atmospheric ruins (which apparently were very fun to clamber over, run around between and hide behind!)
Tomorrow we're off to Crathorne Hall which is our wedding venue next April. I can't wait to see it again - we've booked our wedding without seeing it since a lovely holiday 3 years ago - I hope it's as nice as we remember it!!!!
