Homespun Charms

What a Blipping day!

The weather was so good this morning and the forecast for tomorrow is so bad we thought we would make the most of it. We set off on a favourite walk but I was not happy as there were a lot of cows and calves and what looked like a rather large bull in one field. Decided on retreat and so shortened the route back to the village. When we arrived there were two enormous pigs who had got out of their grounds and were ambling aimiably down the road and went on to forage round the cottage gardens. A couple of the locals were not happy as this has happened before apparently. Another retreat and we decided to drive over to Rievaulx Abbey managing to negotiate a truculent cyclist on the way. As it's half term we were lucky to park by the roadside and pick up our new route. The geese poking through the fence to eat the grass on the other side were a contender for today's blip as well as the pigs. The abbey looked magnificent in the sunshine and I took loads of pictures. Then on to a picnic spot by a fast flowing stream. Bracken had a lovely time and howled like a wolf to encourage us to throw sticks. She had her back feet off the bottom but cried like a baby rather than go the whole way and actually swim.
Lovely day, now we batten down the hatches and await the rain. Couldn't decide on which picture so took a chance and made a collage of my favourites. Remains to be seen whether Blip will accept it. If not it's back to the drawing board!
