demise of the hive

There was bear scat under the tree. Three lobes of the five lobe hive were missing. I figured Winnie the Pooh had finally found his "huny." But alas, I found the three lobes on the ground under the tree and nary a bear claw mark in any of them. There were just dried out and probably blew off the tree in a heavy wind. At least I have a nice souvenir with a faint scent of honey :-)
