Cake and Culture

It was a cake and culture morning today.

His Lordship suggested a visit to the museum with a lure of a coffee to entice me.

It is well known to many that I am a Philistine when it comes to museums and galleries.
Darkened rooms with lots of ancient exhibits and much descriptive writing causes me to hyperventilate and get dizzy within twenty minutes.
Well this may be a slight exaggeration but I cope much better with lots of white walls and space, especially if his Lordship allows me a slice of his chocolate cake to keep me going.

Much of the newly furbished museum has oodles of white walls and space, with architecture which cries out to be blipped.
The café's chocolate cake slices were large enough to feed a family of four, but his Lordship managed to demolish one with but a little help from me.

We found all the hordes of school children who are on holiday this week, well contained on the ground floor with the interactive exhibits, leaving the upper floors to adults and relative peace.

We only made it to the top floor of the original building, before deciding we had had enough culture and cake for the day; but his Lordship is anxious to return and trawl through the dark galleries with the prehistoric exhibits.
I will content myself with the modern day presentations in big white walled spaces; and a visit to the café of course.
