My gardening efforts this year have been a bit hit-and-miss. Thanks to the warm spring weather, many things got off to a flyer, but many matured early and others fell victim to the drought and in some cases neglect. The most successful was probably the fennel - not sure why! Today, I harvested the 2 pumpkins which had survived, This is the smaller but more perfectly formed of the 2, and will undoubtedly end up in a soup.
