Dad, can we make a rope swing from a tree?

- No. We don't have any trees with the right branches. And you have a swing already.

What about this one?

- No. It's right beside a holly bush. No one could swing there.

Couldn't you hack some of the bush away?

- No. And anyway, we don't have any rope.

What about the old baby swing?

- No. We'll never get that untied. And what would you sit on?

A piece of wood.

- Do you think I'm just going to go find and cut a branch to tie on so you can sit on it? What sort of Dad do you think I am?
