Before/After, Sun/Supernova a.k.a. Bliptych

Thought to show you both the before- and after image today. Just one texture on the edited version (once again a wall I found - I love walls!) and urban acid (of course :)). After those two thingies, the sun was mostly a white blob, which is why I darkened it using curves (with a mask to only deal with the sun) and then added a copy of the original image on top that had been converted to b&w and had the contrast enhanced, using overlay as the blending mode. Some more masking and the image turned out as you see above. Pic is taken on my way to work this morning; I just loved how the sun reflected or threw an aura (or whatever it was it was doing) on the clouds further off.

I got to bed real late yesterday and so struggled somewhat at work this afternoon. Since I don't drink coffee there's no easy way to snap out of it either... I've got to start stocking up on Red Bull I guess! ;)
