The incredible shrinking woman!

We went up to see my mother-in-law today. You'd never guess that she spent two nights last week in hospital after a fall in the garden. Thankfully she was OK and, of course, has no recollection of any of it - which in some ways is probably for the best. And although the 'powers that be' don't think she needs to be in a care home (they're probably right, she's no doubt better off staying somewhere she knows) she now has carers coming in three times a day, which is a great relief.

Her memory may be virtually non-existent but at least her sense of humour is still intact as we did laugh at how she and her 8-year-old grand-daughter are now almost the same height! She may be shrinking but, as far as mother-in-laws go, she's a giant to me - couldn't have asked for a more lovely one.
