Almost sunflower

I spent a couple of hours up at the allotment, digging, raking, hoeing, weeding.....and it still looked pretty bad! My goodness, we have let the grass grow under our feet. I transplanted a few more leeks.

I discovered that one of the sunflowers is making a brave attempt to open before the first frost cuts it down.
