New Girl

This gorgeous Hanoverian is my boss' latest acquisition. Her name is Honey, and she was bred to be an RCMP horse in the Musical Ride. However, the honey color for which she was named disqualified her from being a permanent part of the program - the horses must be black. At only one year old, she stands a full head taller than her full-grown neighboring quarter horses. Many of these thoroughbreds will stand well over 17 hands at maturity - that's huge!

She was too skittish to come close today (she had only just arrived), but everyone who has come in direct contact with her says she is a total sweetheart. She seems very gentle, and is incredibly light on her feet. I can't wait to get to know her better!
