Pearce's, Laid back, Swedish Style

This place has been a bar, an Edinburgh landmark, for over 110 years.

More recently, "an old man's bar", filled with smoke.

That's before the smoking ban came in and the new owners took it over.

Wow! What a difference.

This place inside now lives up to the outside.

If you have kids, have friends who have kids, and want to meet up, have good food and nice beer / wine. This is the place.

Want no kids?

Go in the evening. After 8 I believe. And from friends who have no kids; they say it's good craic then.

Anyway, here it is lunchtime today (mid-October) and cafe culture is well alive with folks sitting outside.

Only wished I had the chance to sit and stay for lunch.
