All that is beautiful

Butter wouldn't melt ... Would it?

This child, my lovely Clara, has made me so cross today. We had a lovely trip on the double decker bus to Tesco and then it all went badly downhill .. We turned the aisle and Clara pointed and shouted 'ha ha look at that Mummy'. She was pointing at a family, with a dwarf grown up and a non dwarf child - maybe around 7/8 years old. They both looked around but I was already at Clara's level with the pointy Mummy finger so I think they knew she was being chastised for her rudeness.

I know she's only a child and kids don't think, and perhaps I was too cross for the crime but isnt this the age we correct this type of behaviour. It certainly hasn't been learned from me and we've spoken at length about children who look different to others.

She had chosen some donuts for after dinner which I made her put back. I think she feels a bit silly now as she's been misbehaving doing things she knows she shouldn't do - kicking her sister, poking her tongue out at me ... Tonight, she isn't getting a bedtime story, she's going to watch YouTube videos of dwarf people, and a thorough talking to about hurting people's feelings.

What else can I do? I told Mr G. Initially, he laughed. How do I enforce rules if he finds this behaviour in the least funny? Anyway, he also told her off. She'll know by the end of tonight to not be so unkind.
