Leave nothing but footprints...

Marshland-Dad

My first day off this week after what I must say was an unusually quiet week at work. Strange feeling really as you're happy that there are no victims of crime, yet frustrated that there's no-one to catch. As this was the case, we spent our time looking at older undetected crimes to see if there are new leads.

So my first day off is looking at the devastation that we call home. With all of us working full-time (or at school) and only returning to eat and sleep, the house is in drastic need of tidying. This may be done at some point during the day...let's wait and see!

The school day started with the usual routine of Marshland-Mum up first, followed by tired Marshland-Children and then Marshland-Dad. Beth takes care of the hair and I wonder round checking that everything is moving towards us all leaving the house on time. When I say 'checking everything', I mean checking Libby is actually getting dressed and not walking round in her dressing gown watching everyone else while singing to herself.

I'm then given the school letters for the week and told by Marshland-Mum that there are cheques to be written. So, sat at the table I give away any money that I may have saved to the school for trips and music lessons. I am then asked by Isabelle to sign her homework diary. This is a big thing for Isabelle to ask me to do as last time I did it I signed it M.Mouse, D.Duck and W.Pooh. With strict instructions to do it properly and not mess about, I signed it in the name of the person the school obviously think I am - J.D ROCKEFELLER. I feel it may be a while until I am asked to sign her homework diary again.

After dropping all the girls at school I drive along sea front towards home and look out to sea. Again, because of Blip, I decide to go home, get the camera, and go onto the beach for a walk, which is something I would not normally do. Here I would have said that Blip's great for getting me out of the house for a walk, but I don't think Beth would agree today. Unfortunately, before leaving the house to get a blip, I mistakenly left the gas hob on the low setting and then placed our new (and fairly expensive) table mats on top of the cooker ready to clean. Needless to say, when I returned, the house smelled rather interesting and the table mats had a designer hole burnt into the middle of them. Lucky that the beach is at the end of my road - any further and I may have returned to an inferno!

This entry is a disappointment really. I can't understand why people leave rubbish on our beaches. It's such a shame.
