Quark

This is my plastic Quark, the Ferengi bartender from Star Trek: Deep Space 9. I have had a lifelong love of ST and have watched them since I was born. Well, it feels like. People don't often realise how few episodes of the original series there are. It was first aired in the US in 1966 and there were only three series with Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Chekov,Sulu, Uhura etc. It wasn't shown here for another three years and then shown ALL THE TIME after that. When Star Trek: The Next Generation launched it was hugely exciting but the possibility of it being pants was quite worrying. It took a while to get into its stride, the early episodes of men in mini dresses and plots 'reimagined' from the original series soon evolved into great plots and further spin offs. I'm sort of over it now. One day at a time.
