Brush Turkey

Back Blip #6

The second day on G's birthday weekend to Lamington had us repeating yesterday's birdwatching tour but with me as the guide. Then, after lunch with the Bowerbirds, we headed down the waterfall walk.

I could easily have blipped the views of the waterfall, but I've gone with the big, gormless bit of gristle that is a Brush Turkey. They're so often ignored, but they run faster than us, have a rudder for a tail which allows them to change direction while doing their Usain Bolt impersonations, and spend weeks tending a mammoth mound of mulch (with their eggs inside) because they can't be bothered sitting on a nest.

It also captures some of the tones of the under-brush. As this is a back-blip I know for a fact I'll be posting some more Lamington scenes, including the Bowerbirds and grass-trees; stay tuned.
