Marshalling

A friend of ours organises the Arienig Fawr Fell Race, and was looking for marshals this year. We arrived as instructed just before 11 o'clock and were given Checkpoint 1 to man - about 3 vertical miles to the summit. Great to meet other friends and catch up over coffee and gorgeous home made cakes, we then asked Y when we should set off to get to the top, 'Oh, now would be fine, a leisurely stroll' - yeh right, we had to leg it to the top before the first runners came through - about ten minutes to spare!
