Which Way Home?
Oh what a glorious day :-)
Summer finally came to Northamptonshire yesterday, and it hung around for Sunday too.
We decided to make the most of it, as it will probably be snowing by next weekend!
We packed a picnic and went for a bike ride. The boys were on form, the dog ran with the bikes (mostly) beautifully. There was one small incident with a squirrel where he lurched sideways and dragged Bob (and his bike) down a ditch...but we'll gloss over that one ;-)
We dropped the bikes back at the car and the boys had ice creams (even the biggest Grant) with cornets dipped in chocolate *and* sprinkles (even the biggest Grant ;-)
None of us were ready to head for home so we took a walk down to the newest addition to Fineshade Forest - the tree house climbing frame. The boys loved it (even the biggest Grant!) This is H, following the map. He loves maps - always has done, and insists it's *his* job, not the sat-nav's to get us anywhere.
We ate supper outside this evening and tried to pretend that summer had been like this all along.
Meant to say. H finally got his new violin.. It's a half-size and is set up for him...it sounds beautiful. He's in love with it and and I swear he would have taken it on his bike ride today he so didn't want to be separated from it!
