Phew, what a scorcher!

Said the Sun newspaper in 1976. I wonder what they'll have as a headline tomorrow? The summer was not quite what we were expecting, yet come October and we have the highest recorded temperatures ever for this month. I do hope you're all making the most of it, as it's not going to last.

I think lots of people had that idea, as the coast is full of visitors, paddling, sunbathing, swimming, boating, making sandcastles. the yacht clubs were out in strength - not that there was much wind, but worth a go.

Not that I spent the whole day lazing around - I had some DIY to do too you know. But the sun was so hot, paint was drying before it even left the brush! Mustn't complain.
