Sea of Tranquility
Still as the proverbial millpond today. Sun already very warm on my face, as I take Emma for yet another last and final paddle this year.
As we walked along the cliff top we could see a group of maybe a dozen from the swimming club racing freestyle from the beach beneath us towards the pier end. They were the only things moving in the whole scene. When we arrived on the beach, there were already a few families who had set up their towels and things along the sand and had ventured into the beautiful, but far from warm, water.
I walked along the beach while Emma paddled her way in 6 inches of sea, picking up the occasional oyster shell of piece of shiny stone, singing her own songs all the way. After a while we could hear a drone of a motor boat towing a skier and a couple of jet skis passing, but when they had gone, everything returned to peace.
This photo has not converted to jpeg wonderfully. Even I could detect so many more colours in the original (as well as yet more dust on my sensor). But as the first blip of October, it will do.
