Another bonny sunset
Back into town for a meeting tonight, and coming home there was a super sunset.
Went up to see Nimbus and the Shetlands (good name for a band - I know I've said it before, but so far no-one has taken me up on it!), and was surprised to see a huge drainage ditch down the side of their shelter, and a proper track to the field. It must have taken all day to do, even with all the proper machinery, and it will make such a huge difference mud-wise next year. The owners are in Germany and arrange these things via the internet, so they come as a bit of a shock sometimes!
Saw an old neighbour while I was up there. I used to live near him 28 years ago, and I thought he was old then! He's a really nice, kind old Aberdonian chap, with a great sense of humour and a fascinating life story. He keeps himself to himself and I don't see him often but it was really lovely to meet him by surprise tonight. He's looking rather wild and woolly round the edges but is still going strong. His parting shot is always "and lang may yer lum reek!".
