What a day!

We have had such a wonderful day!! We went first to meet a friend for a drink this morning. they took us to a coffee bar/crepe place that I've not been in before - the walls are lilacs and purples with hand painted birds, hearts, eifel towers. Chandeliers, swirly chrome chairs and stools. You've got the picture. Katie had an ice cream float as a treat - she actually just ate the ice cream and some of the foam.

It was then time for swimming. It made such a difference going before her sleep today, rather than waking her up to swim. She had an absolute blast. She was doing starfloats on her tummy, with her face flat in the water. They were doing babydives and she was begging more. She enjoyed the push and glide, especially backwards. During peekaboo, she thought it really funny to duck under the water. It was great to see "my" Katie back at swimming lessons!

After swimming, it was time for a sleep, before our next (exciting!!) installment of the day. Vic and her two came to meet us at the woods. The children had a really great time. And I did too! It was lovely. Katie took to them all three so well, bit shy at first but came out of it well. She did her first blackberrying (with some amusing faces as she found slightly sour ones). She watched the big kids do some impressive tree climbing, and did her first tree climbing too. They played with piles of leaves, they hunted acorns. It was wonderful! Thats something I love about blip - because of the journal side of it, and the commenting, you can meet someone and feel like you're meeting an old friend. Because essentially you are. A great time.

As if that wasnt enough, we then headed for some tea and play with the cousins. Katie wasnt impressed at the idea of playing in the garden, until she realised the toys that she likes to play with had already been taken outside. Once outside, she sat for over an hour playing with duplo. She decided then that it was inside time and took all the toys to the backdoor. We had a bit more play before coming home. I love Saturdays!
