The Bee and the Daisy
This is one of the first photos I took today and somehow (even though I kept taking photos of other things afterwards) I always knew it was going to be my blip today. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous again so I've been out in the garden enjoying the sunshine and the warmth.
A lovely Small Tortoiseshell appeared on the daisies as well which added a bit of extra colour to the scene. These daisies (I've no idea which species they are) are being over-run with Honey Bees at the moment which is fantastic!
I've also done a set of Pond Skater photos. The second generation of these intriguing critters have appeared in the pond and I love watching them! The forelegs are used to grab prey, which is then jabbed with the beak. The middle legs act as oars, and the hindlegs as a rudder. According to my brilliant book 'Guide to Garden Wildlife' by Richard Lewington, this could be the most widespread British bug.

Thank you for all your comments and stars for yesterday's 'Goldfinch' blip! They're back again today along with some youngsters and I had a nice surprise on the bus this morning when I saw a stunning Kestrel hovering above a field :)
