Do not disturb

Despite the soaring temperatures (27C where I live), I spent the day in the shady front garden clearing and taming overgrown and decaying shrubs.

Suddenly the dead leaves moved and there was this frog. As I chopped, lopped, dug and raked, I felt a bit of a vandal really as if I was upsetting a whole ecology that had built up over many years. Hopefully all those creatures I displaced will eventually find new homes. The frog just kept hopping along until I could see him no more and I'm sure he would have found another suitable spot to set up home.

For the record: 28C and 10 hours of undiluted sunshine in our neck of the woods. Amazing for the end of September - and there's still more to come...
