You may not go to the ball......

This is one of my new boots. I am not completely convinced that the boots fit so I'm not taking them to Melrose for a weekend of walking. I love having boots that are comfortable, supportive, watertight and have good gripping soles. Achieving this is the aim of nearly all walkers. My current boots are comfy but the soles have worn and water does seep in, so I have to have a new pair.

This image was taken with in camera flash on reduced power. I then cropped the image for the detail, changed to mono then to sepia. Then I added grain and finally a little selective sharpening to the laces. I thought that sepia fitted with the leather boot style.

It is a rare sight in this house to see boots that are completely mud free so I'm enjoying that while it lasts!
