Tennis, Anyone?

We arrived in Wales a couple of weeks ago at the same time as hurricane Katia, although it had morphed into a "powerful extratropical storm" by the time it got there. We were battered by strong winds for a couple of days. On the day we got back home the balmy weather Bellingham had been enjoying during our absence ended. For the next two days we had rain and strong winds, bringing down leaves, small branches and tree limbs.

I'm reminded of the Li'l Abner cartoon character Joe Btfsplk, who walked around with a perpetual dark cloud over his head, although I don't think I'm the world's biggest jinx, or any kind of jinx at all.
