Who knew?

I got bored thinking of game shots, so this is the only one you get. I did decide though today that I'd take you through some of my favourite games of the last twenty years. Today I feature two.

The first is Mariokart. Anyone who has ever caught the Mariokart bug will know what I mean. There are a maximum of 3 laps to race around chasing dragons riding karts and fire them off the road with heat seeking red shells. Sound stupid? It is. It's stupidly addictive. It's even a game the girlies like!! The version in the picture above is worth £10. I know this because that's what I've just sold it for on Amazon.

The other game I wanted to mention was Speedball 2 on the Amiga. I don't know if anyone remembers this but it was a futuristic sport where signing big ugly fighters and getting them to beat up the opposition was par for course. The 'ball' was a solid steel thing you could hurl at other players to knock them out. Sadly I had a Commodore 64 and graphically it was the equivilant of big lego blocks occasionally chaning shape. On the Amiga you could make out the guys faces who you were playing (not in game of course, they all looked the same) but on my C64 and dodgy 15" TV screen thet resembled square two pence coins.

Anyway that's a back blip. About to leave the house now to post series 1-7 of Columbo to a woman in Lothian. I might take a photo while I'm out, y'know what they say: When in Rome.....

Although when I ever go to Rome I'll go easy on the Christian killing and milk baths, preferring to focus on the quaint coffee shops and over marketed tourist attractions.
