Mar Lodge, River Dee

Just back from my annual trip to Mar Lodge Estate on the River Dee, where this time I had perfect river conditions and the fish were there in numbers.

This salmon was 6lbs and along with three other fish was returned to the water safely to spawn in peace. I love Deeside and the scenery, wildlife, fishing and deer stalking.

I'm increasingly frustrated by how I feel sometimes when I'm out and then feel a need to get home earlier. Earlier for what? I'm sure whatever it is, it could wait a bit longer. Childhood days on the river usually meant first light to last light, but not anymore....
