Rome

On the basis that all roads lead to Rome, and this is a Roman road... Rome must be somewhere in that direction.

After a slow start to the day (lie-ins are becoming very precious just now, and mornings are counting as lie-ins that would previously have counted as normal weekends: so basically any morning where I'm still in bed at 7.30, is a lie-in. How did that happen?) Anyway, after a slow start, Mr B headed off to the builders' merchants to buy beams (and saw them in half in the car park so he could fit them in the convertible. No-one bats an eye at our weirdness any more.) Then home to watch the rugby (New Zealand vs France). We were in a bit of a quandry as to who to support, and were hoping sort of for France to win this match, but NZ to win the whole thing... But obviously that didn't quite happen. Still, we all learned some useful rugby words (and were able to lipread some other words from the French players too....)

Brunch/lunch followed by a walk, with sulkiness of children wearing off eventually. The weather was, as you can see, cloudy - but still fairly bright - but very very close. So with some relief we headed home (via a petrol emergency when we thought someone had nicked our petrol, but after a couple of engine restarts it turned out to just be a faulty gauge) for a cool bottle of fizz and the next Harry Potter movie. Then duck, baths and bedtime.

Mr B is off to London again tomorrow, so today has had a Sunday feel to it. He's left me a whole list of *lovely* jobs to do while he's away. I feel a strike ballot coming on.
