Fungus the Bogeyman?

Spotted these odd fungi alongside the path this morning (just before the rain started). No idea what they are but I am no way tempted to try a taste test!
I did get some mushies later as we went up to a garden centre in Stirling for "breakfast" - two for £5.50
We're not mean, just canny!
